West Bay Coastal Defence and Harbour Improvement Scheme
A major £17m scheme protects West Bay from coastal flooding and gives better access to the harbour.
The works included:
- Building a new Western Pier with rock armour protection
- Demolishing the majority of the existing western pier
- Strengthening the existing eastern pier
- Providing new rock groynes and beach replenishment
- Building a new slipway
