Information and advice to help you manage your school library.

Each of our professional staff has responsibility for a number of schools. If you have any questions about the Advice and Support Service please contact us.

What can we offer?

  • A member of the School Library Service can visit you in your school to discuss any library-related issues, including drafting policy statements

  • By working with pupils and staff we can help demystify the Dewey Decimal System

  • We can provide a formal pre-OFSTED review or advice on library design

  • We offer training tailored to the needs of support staff, parent helpers and pupil librarians

  • Our advisors can help you make effective use of ICT resources, and exploit the breadth of web based resources

  • Advice on your stock can help identify gaps and recommend resources for purchase

  • Information can be provided on authors willing to visit schools
