Carsharing
Carsharing is where two or more people share a car to travel together. 80% of car journeys carry only one person. Carsharing can be a very good way of reducing peak time congestion, reducing fuel costs and cutting your carbon footprint - where two people share the problem is literally halved!
Dorset County Council, Bournemouth Borough Council and the Borough of Poole have teamed up with Liftshare to set up
carsharedorset.com (opens in a new window)
which will make finding matching potential car sharers very easy. And you don't even need a car - if you are just looking for a lift, carsharedorset.com is your answer.
Carsharedorset.com is a free service that links up drivers and passengers to enable them to share car journeys. You can give a lift or get a lift for journeys to work, school, the shops, for leisure or work-related trips anywhere in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole, and beyond - the system is linked to a national database of journeys.
