Publications and Projects
Since it began the Dorset Coast Forum has coordinated or carried out a wide range of projects and produced a number of high quality publications.
Currently the Dorset Coast Forum is working on the C-SCOPE (Combining Sea and Coastal Planning in Europe) project which aims to improve coordination, planning and management of the Dorset coast.

Marine and Coastal Education Pack - 2008
A joint project between Dorset Coast Forum, Dorset areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and the World Heritage Team to produce a working resource for KS2 teachers - bringing the Dorset coast to the classroom.

DEFRA Rural Pathfinder Project - 2005 to 2008
Dorset was one of eight Rural Pathfinders designated across England by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The Pathfinder initiative started in April 2005, and the national report was launched in February 2008.

State of the Dorset Coast - Reflecting on Success - 2005
This reviews the progress made by the Dorset Coast Forum in its first ten years, from 1995 to 2005, and outlines the priorities for the future.

Shipwrecks of the Dorset Coast - 2005
Shipwrecks of the Dorset Coast is a book about the Dorset Coast written by Gordon Le Pard, Former Dorset Coast Forum Officer.

The essential guide to the Dorset coast. A handy, pocket sized book full of information for anybody who visits or lives beside the coast.

The Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment of Dorset's coastal archaeology.

SWIM - Sea Water Information and Monitoring - 2001
Information on the quality of bathing water is displayed, by law, at specified bathing beaches. This information is very technical and not readily understood by the public. The 'Swim' project tried to present this information is an easily understood form.

The fish and chip wrapper - 2000
A fun way to package fish and chips was put together to help promote the eating of sustainably caught fish, with a focus on seasonally and locally caught fish.

Bathing only zones - 1999
Along the Dorset Coast, at some of the more popular bathing beaches, there are bathing only zones. This project was one where certain partners of the Dorset Coast Forum (DCF) came together to address public safety at some of the amenity beaches, Bouys were placed in the inshore area to allow the public to swim and paddle without fear of colliding with others using recreational craft.

Dorset Coast Strategy - 1999
In 1999 the Dorset Coast Strategy was published. Developed by the Dorset Coast Forum, it sets out a future for the coast, covering the coastline and inshore seas from Lyme Regis to Highcliffe. A revised version of the Dorset Coast Strategy is currently being written due to be completed by the end of 2010.

Dorset Marine Literature Database
The Dorset Marine Literature Database has been established to enable easier access to information on Dorset's marine environment.

Slipways and launch points
This is a survey of all the public slipways and launch points along the Dorset Coast. It gives details of facilities for boats as well as identifying any problems and difficulties users may face.

Timber recording
Timbers from ancient shipwrecks are sometimes washed up on Dorset's beaches, particularly after storms.

Environment Agency and Dorset Coast Forum collaboration - 2009 - 2011
The Dorset Coast Forum (DCF) is working with the Environment Agency (EA) to deliver a program of projects that will enhance the involvement of local coastal and marine stakeholders in the decisions made for flood and coastal erosion management purposes.
