Part 6 members allowances scheme
The Members' Allowances Scheme has been developed by an Independent remuneration panel appointed and maintained jointly by the East Dorset District Council, Christchurch Borough Council and Purbeck District Council.
The current panel consists of a private local government consultant as chairman and five members, none of whom are Members of the Christchurch, East Dorset or Purbeck Councils and all live, or work in, or for the communities concerned.
Details of the scheme can be accessed from the downloads area on the right of the page.
Under the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) Regulations 2001 Regulation 9 the district council is required to publish in the form of a notice the total sum paid to each member in respect of:
- Basic allowance
- Special responsibility allowance
- Attendance allowance
- Allowances in respect of arranging for the care of children or dependants in accordance with regulation 8
Please note that no attendance allowances are paid to members of East Dorset District Council.
The notice is published in the Daily Echo as soon as reasonably practicable after the end of a year to which the scheme relates - normally June.
