Standards Committee
The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct by councillors (including the two parish councils). The committee also provides advice and training on the Councillors' Code of Conduct.
The Standards Committee has nine members, comprising of two borough council members, four independent persons and three representatives from the two parish councils. The Chairman is one of the independent persons.
The Standards Committee meets on a quarterly basis.

Sub-Committees
In addition to the main Standards Committee, there is provision to convene three Sub-Committees as and when necessary to consider the local assessment of complaints that members have breached the Code of Conduct or an adopted protocol, namely:-
