Support for county councillors
Once elected you will be provided with a members' induction pack. You will receive induction training and ongoing development through seminars and individual training. In addition, experienced members and officers are able to offer newly elected members informal support. Profiles for each county council electoral division are available on request.
The Democratic Services Team will provide support to you through the committee arrangements. There are also two members' secretaries who provides secretarial support for all elected members.
The county council has agreed that every member should have an individual biannual review and development meeting. This includes discussion of training and development needs.
You will also be given a computer and appropriate training.
