House price data
HM Land Registry produces house price data in two different forms. It produces; traditional average house price data and more recently the house price index (HPI).
Unlike the original average house price data, the HPI uses a more sophisticated repeat-sales regression analysis allowing like properties to be compared, giving more reliable results.
However, it is not available for lower geographies, for example district or borough level, so we continue to provide average house price data too, as this includes the lower level.
