The rural facilities survey provides a comprehensive database of the facilities found in each rural settlement in Dorset. It includes facilities such as shops, post offices, pubs and schools.

Knowing your community
Information is gathered about our communities from many sources, the most well-known of which is the National Census. Based on this information, and working with Dorset County Council, Purbeck District Council has been able to produce profiles of the district.

We have commissioned community profiles for each of the 28 wards in North Dorset to improve our knowledge of the wards and key parishes in the district. These detailed profiles will help to identify and measure key social and economic differences and any significant gaps within the district.
