Borough of Christchurch Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the guidance and timescale within which the Local Development Framework will be produced.

The Christchurch Local Development Scheme (LDS) has been prepared by Christchurch Borough Council and sets out a three year rolling programme for the preparation of planning documents.   Christchurch Local Development Scheme Revision 4 - January 2012 (pdf, 3Mb) (opens in a new window)  with its associated timetable is provided for download.

The Christchurch Community Services Committee of 18 January 2012 ratified the content of the LDS. In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Development - England) Regulations 2004, section 11, the committee agreed that the LDS shall come into effect immediately.

Joint working with East Dorset District Council

Christchurch Borough Council and East Dorset District Council are jointly producing some elements of their emerging local development frameworks including a Joint Core Strategy. Each authority still produces an individual LDS; the East Dorset scheme is available from their pages of this website (see links on the left of this page).
