Dorset Bournemouth and Poole Funding Advisers Network - Terms of Reference
Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole Funding Adviser's Network, known as doFAN, is an independent network of Funding Advisers who work throughout Dorset Bournemouth and Poole.
Aim
To improve accessibility to funding, improve delivery of projects throughout Dorset Bournemouth and Poole and promote current advice provision.
Objectives
The objectives of the Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole Funding Advisers' Network are to:
- Share experience, information and advice on funding issues
- Gather views from Dorset Funding Adviser's on funding issues to present to GEORGE, the South West Funding Advisers Forum
- Promote funding advice as a resource in Dorset
- Provide a central point of contact for funders
- Develop stronger working links with funders
- Provide joint responses to consultations
Act as a lobbying/pressure group for funding in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole with the backing of GEORGE.
Membership
Members will be drawn from public or voluntary sector organisations who as part of their role, give free funding advice to groups and individuals who are based in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. Each member will have voting rights at meetings.
Associate members
Funding advisers who charge groups and individuals in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole for funding advice, or give funding advice as part of a profit making business, can be Associate Members. Associate members will have no voting rights at meetings.
Membership Charges
There will be no membership fees, but doFAN reserves the right to charge Associate Members.
Principals of Working
doFAN is an informal group and as such, will not have a committee structure. However, each member organisation will take turns in leading the Network on a quarterly basis.
- Members will provide their direct telephone number, email address and web site details.
- Communication will mainly be e-mail based.
- E-mails will be used for urgent responses, seeking views or sorting out problems quickly.
- All members will agree to actively participate and respond to communications.
- All members will agree to keep communication short to make reading fast and points succinct.
- Circulation of large documents is to be avoided unless necessary.
- There will be at least one meeting each year to network face to face and improve working relations.
