Athelhampton House and Gardens
Athelhampton is one of the finest fifteenth century manor houses and is surrounded by one of the great architectural gardens of England. The house and its estate have been in private ownership for over 500 years. Athelhampton offers an exquisite venue for your important day, with experienced and courteous service. We offer an ideal venue with private use of Athelhampton's facilities on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year.

The Grade 1 listed gardens, which have won the HHA 'Garden of the Year Award', surround the main house with Elizabethan style ham stone courts. The famous 30 feet high yew pyramids dominate the great court and the 15th century Dovecote is still home to a colony of beautiful white fantail doves. Water forms a recurring theme with pools, fountains and the River Piddle.
|Additional special features||Athelhampton is closed to the public on both a Friday and Saturday throughout the year offering you exclusive use of both the House and the Gardens for your wedding ceremony and reception. Every wedding is individually tailored to meet the clients' specific requirements for their wedding day.|
|Indoor reception facilities|
Refurbished and modernised, the old coach house, stables, saw mill and kennels form the heart of Athelhampton's reception facilities. The use of local stone and glass provides a tranquil Conservatory in contrast to the 16thC Long Hall, with its wooden panelling, minstrels' gallery and views over the front lawns. Following photographs, drinks and canapés in the house and gardens, the Coach House provides the ideal venue for a reception meal and evening party. We have no minimum number of guests, and whilst we offer menu suggestions using locally sourced, fresh ingredients, we are very flexible with our approach to catering and try to tailor make the menu to your specific requirements.
