Mobile library service

Dorset mobile libraries bring the library closer to your doorstep: no transport, no parking or heavy weights to carry around town.

Mobile libraries visit over 250 places throughout Dorset every two weeks, or sometimes even weekly. The mobile library carries a range of books for all ages, fiction and non fiction and there is a selection of DVDs and talking books.

Through our mobile libraries you can have access to all Dorset Libraries' stock. If you cannot find the book or other item that you want, we will be pleased to try to get it for you. A small fee is payable for some items.

Books are free to borrow for four weeks from the mobile library. Return or renew your books by the last date stamped. You can return any item to any Dorset Library. There are no overdue charges on the mobile library.

There are lifts available for easy access onto the mobile library for those in wheelchairs, with buggies or with limited mobility.
