Christchurch Conservation Volunteers
This group offers a chance to get involved in the management of Christchurch's countryside, while meeting new people and getting some exercise.
Why volunteer?
If you enjoy the countryside and are concerned about the health of the environment, here's your chance to help. You will pick up valuable skills, keep fit and make new friends.
Who can volunteer?
People of all ages and abilities are welcome and no experience is required. If you are under 16 you will need to bring an adult along with you.
When?
We meet for tasks regularly on Tuesday and Thursday and also the occasional weekend. You are welcome to stay for as long as you like. Hot drinks are provided at scheduled intervals, just bring your lunch if you intend to stay all day. Weekday tasks usually run from 10am to 4pm, with breaks at 11.30am and 1pm. Weekend tasks usually run from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Where?
The Tuesday task tends to be based at Steamer Point Nature Reserve, with occasional visits to other sites such as Stanpit Marsh. The Thursday and Sunday tasks are more roving, covering sites such as Mude Valley Nature Reserve, St Catherine's Hill, Nea Meadows and Grove Copse.
Interested?
Why not join our mailing list and receive a regular list of forthcoming tasks.
