Facilities
Leeson House has an excellent reputation for the quality of accommodation and catering. This is complemented by a modern classroom block with comprehensive field studies equipment and ICT provision. The extensive secluded grounds provide many opportunities for on-site activities such as orienteering, pond-dipping and team building.
The accommodation is of a high standard and comprises:
- room for 63 students and 11 staff
- two dining rooms
- two lounges
- games/conference hall capable of seating up to 100 people
- changing/drying room
- a separate teaching block with three well equipped classrooms, a library and a networked ICT suite
The house is in 2.8 hectares of grounds with a wide variety of habitats including ponds, meadows, woodlands, a bird hide, games field, organic vegetable garden and poly tunnel. The grounds' biodiversity is very healthy, with all three species of newt living in the ponds. Around 25 species of birds are regularly seen from the hide and there are frequent visits from badgers, foxes and deer. The grounds are used extensively by many groups as part of their field course at Leeson House.
