Dog warden service in Christchurch
Our dog warden is responsible for the collection or seizure of any stray dogs that are found within the Borough in accordance with the Environmental Protection (Stray Dogs) Act 1990.
All dogs will be checked for a tag and micro-chip. If they are unclaimed after 7 days they will be passed onto a rescue centre for re-homing.

Enforcement of legislation under the Control of Dogs Order 1992 which requires all dogs to wear a collar and tag when out in public
Patrolling the Borough and enforcing legislation under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996
Investigation of complaints about barking dogs and dangerous dogs
School talks on how to behave around dogs, dos and don'ts and responsible dog ownership, as the children are the dog owners of tomorrow
