Other relevant plans and strategies
In addition to the West Dorset District Local Plan the development plan for the area is made up of the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Structure Plan, the Waste Local Plan, and the Dorset Minerals (and Waste) Local Plan.
The structure plan, waste local plan and minerals (and waste) local plan were produced by Dorset County Council.
Under the planning system introduced in 2004, regional planning guidance, structure plans and local plans will be replaced by regional spatial strategies and local development frameworks. However, the Coalition Government has announced its intention to abolish Regional Spatial Strategies. It has also announced that there will be further changes to the development plan system.
