East Dorset Local Development Scheme

The East Dorset Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the local development documents (LDD) that will form the East Dorset Local Development Framework (LDF).

The principal purposes of the LDS are:

  • To provide a programme for the preparation of the LDF over a three year period
  • To provide the local community, and those interested in planning in East Dorset, with a starting point as to what policies apply and when the various stages of the LDF will be carried out

The East Dorset Local Development Scheme gained council approval at the Policy and Resources Committee on the 28 March 2007.  It was subsequently submitted to the Government Office for the South West in March 2007 and has now been approved.  The document can be downloaded on the right hand side of this page.  The previously approved LDS from 2005 is also available to download.
