Annual monitoring report (AMR)

The annual monitoring report (AMR) provides a progress update on work undertaken on Dorset's minerals and waste planning policy framework, as well as the latest available figures for the amounts of waste managed and aggregates produced.

The county council is required to prepare an AMR for minerals and waste planning under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

The AMR examines the extent to which the agreed timetable for the preparation of minerals and waste planning policy documents (as set out in the minerals and waste development scheme) is being followed. It also looks at how well the policies in the existing Minerals and Waste Local Plan and Waste Local Plan are working.

This is necessary to establish what is happening now, to identify trends and to see what may happen in the future.

The county council has produced seven AMRs since 2004, which are available to download on the right hand side of this page. Hard copies can be purchased from the Environment - Business Support Team.

The current version of the  Annual Monitoring Report 2011 (pdf, 442kb) (opens in a new window) , which reports on the period 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011, is available to download.
