Directions to Christchurch Borough Council.

Greater London

Follow signs out of London for the M3 (South). Join the M3 and travel to the end of the M3 near Southampton (50 miles). Approaching Southampton, follow signs for the M27 West and Bournemouth. Follow the M27 for 11 miles before joining the A31, taking you through Ringwood. Just after Ringwood turn left onto the A338 following signs for Bournemouth. After 7 miles turn left following Christchurch signs onto the B3073 to the centre of Christchurch (3 miles). The normal journey time from London is just under two hours.

South West

Coming to Christchurch via Exeter is a straight forward journey. The bulk of the trip being along the A30 and A35. To begin with, take the A30 before joining the A35 at Honiton. From Honiton follow signs for Dorchester and when approaching Dorchester follow signs for Poole (A35).

When approaching Poole follows signs for first Bournemouth and then Christchurch, passing Bournemouth International Airport and entering Christchurch town along the B3073.

The Midlands, The North and Scotland

The quickest way to Christchurch from these locations is via the M40 coming from the Midlands. Proceed towards Hockley Heath before joining the A34 for 70 miles, heading towards Abingdon and Newbury.

Join the M3 for 10 miles near Winchester before joining the M27 (West).

At Cadnam join the A31, followed by the A338 towards Bournemouth. Finally, join the B3073 and enter the centre of Christchurch.

Wales

Leave Wales on the M4 towards London, and continue to junction 15. Follow the A345 to Marlborough and Salisbury, then the A338 to Ringwood and towards Bournemouth. Turn left on to the B3073, signed Christchurch, and proceed for 3 miles to the town centre.

Dover and the Channel Tunnel

Leaving Dover on the A20, join the M20 and proceed for 40 miles to J12 before joining the M26 for 10 miles. Join the M25 (West) and then join the M3 (South) following the directions given for the London route.

Newhaven and Portsmouth

From Newhaven, proceed along the A259 for 10 miles, then join the A2023 for a couple of miles before joining the A27 for 45 miles, heading towards Chichester and Portsmouth.

Join the M27 for 30 miles which becomes the A31 near Cadnam. Continue along the A31 towards Ringwood, followed by the A338 signed to Bournemouth. Finally, turn left on to the B3073 and enter the centre of Christchurch (3 miles).
