The employment land review has been prepared as part of the evidence base informing the production of the Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy, Airport Area Action Plan and Site Specific Allocations DPD.

The review process for Christchurch and East Dorset has been conducted in accordance with Government guidance produced in 2004 by the then ODPM.

The employment land review is separated into three stages:

  • Stage 1: This stage provides a stock take of the existing situation, including an initial assessment of the fitness for purpose' of existing allocated employment sites
  • Stage 2: This assesses the scale and nature of likely demand for employment land and premises and the available supply in quantitative terms
  • Stage 3: The third and final stage involves a more detailed review of site supply and quality. It also identifies and designates new employment sites in order to create a balanced employment land portfolio

Stage 1 of the review is complete and available as a PDF download from this page. The stage 2 assessment for Christchurch and East Dorset is well progressed and will shortly be made available.
