Following completion of the Purbeck Transport Study, the Purbeck Transportation Strategy (PTS) has been published. It provides an overarching strategy for future transportation provision within Purbeck.

The transport studies for the West Dorset, North and North-East Dorset, and Weymouth and Portland regions are still being carried out. Once complete these three studies will create strategies for future transport provision within the respective Dorset regions.

All the strategies will provide an evidence base for the transport element of the respective district or borough council local development frameworks (LDFs), and will demonstrate how transport facilities could be enhanced to facilitate the desired level of economic growth in these district council areas between 2008-2026.

• Dorchester Transport and Environment Plan

  The Dorchester Transport and Environment Plan (DTEP) makes proposals to improve the environmental quality in Dorchester through the enhancement of the public realm and a reduction in negative traffic impacts.

• Purbeck Transport Strategy (PTS) Review

  The Purbeck Transport Strategy sets out future transport schemes and improvements in the district.
