Initial Responders Major Incident Manual
Information on the Dorset Local Resilience Forum Major Incident Manual.
The Bournemouth, Dorset & Poole Local Resilience Forum (BD&P LRF) consists of representatives from Category One and Two responders from within Dorset and was established in-line with the Civil Contingencies Act 04. The purpose of the LRF is to develop policy and strategic planning arrangements to achieve effective working practices and procedures between organisations responding to emergencies.
The procedures set out by the LRF are detailed within a common document:
The Initial Responders Major Incident Manual (pdf, 565kb) (opens in a new window)
.
This contains the most recent review of procedures to assist understanding where two or more emergency responding agencies meet at any serious incident.
It is the intention of this manual to act as a base document for the family of plans and guides held by the various category one and two responders within Dorset.
The aim of this document is to:
- Record agreed responsibilities and arrangements of Dorset local authorities, health authorities, emergency services, the armed forces, utilities and voluntary agencies in responding to major incidents, and
- Assist those organisations and agencies who will be required to respond to a major incident/emergency in preparation of their own plans
