Eastern Route
The Eastern Route will link Radipole Park Drive cycleway to Preston Beach Road cycleway and footway.
The route will go over Alexander Footbridge in Radipole Gardens, along Westbourne Road, on to Cranford Avenue and into the Lodmoor Country Park, where the route will join up with the Preston Beach Road cycleway and footway.
The route extends from Radipole Park Drive to Preston Road and Bowleaze Coveway. It will also provide a safer crossing point across Dorchester Road, between Westbourne Road and Cranford Avenue.
Following recent developments to allow all year cycling on the esplanade between Sluice Gardens and Preston, a spur from the Sealife Centre car park across Preston Beach Road to Sluice Gardens is also being considered as part of the route.
Comments from the public consultation in January 2010 have been considered and where possible incorporated into the design.
The Eastern Route is currently programmed for construction after 2012.

The route will go towards completing Weymouth's walking and cycling network.
