Dorset County Council has been working in partnership with your town and parish councils to ensure safer, more resilient communities. This is just the start of the more long-term goal of community resilience.

The Emergency Planning Service and the Dorset Association of Parish and Town Council's (DAPTC) have worked together to produce the Community Resilience Plan Template (pdf, 222kb) (opens in a new window) . This template plan is part of a longer-term goal of enhancing community resilience and awareness to emergencies and local risks within their area.

The community resilience plans will be developed for each community by identified representatives from your local town or parish council and hosted upon their websites.

If you want to become involved and help support your community through this area of important work, then please contact your local parish or town council. They will advise you on how you may be able to help.

Alternatively, please contact us, the Emergency Planning Service and we will put you in touch with your local parish or town council or provide further information.

The template Community Resilience Plan is available in pdf format to the public, and in Word format to DAPTC members on the members area of the DAPTC Website (opens in a new window) .

The recently launched Cabinet Office National Strategic Framework, Community Emergency Plan Toolkit and guidance documents can be reached by following this link to their community resilience website (opens in a new window) .
