Shire Alcohol and Drug Outreach Service (ShADOWS)
ShADOWS is a young people's confidential drug and alcohol service for under 18s across Dorset (other than Bournemouth and Poole).
ShADOWS explores and tackles issues around drug and alcohol use and offers advice and guidance, dispelling myths and promoting facts about the realities and consequences of drug and alcohol use.
Confidential, non-judgmental one-to-one support is available for young people whose lives may be affected by their own, or another's substance use.
ShADOWS provides a wide range of services working in schools alongside Personal Health and Social Education (PHSE) and outreach street based work in Dorset communities. Additionally it offers drug and alcohol workshops and facilitation of peer led work.
ShADOWS outreach workers can also be used as a point of contact for young people wishing to be referred on to the Specialist Prevention Service for treatment for drugs or alcohol use.
