Cycling around North Dorset

This cycle pack offers a taster of the many interesting routes in North Dorset. The seven routes take you through some of North Dorset's hidden villages and beautiful landscapes. There are a range of rides from easy meanders to challenging off road adventures.

The pack contains seven slightly waterproof A5 individual route cards, a general leaflet with some top tips and a map of all the routes. The routes are graded according to the surface, time and hills from one (easy) to three (hard).

Route 1 Gillingham

Distance: 16 miles / 26 km     Grade: 3
Explore Gillingham's surrounding countryside on this challenging ride. The ride takes you through some pretty villages in the north of the county.

Route 2 Sixpenny Handley

Distance: 10 miles / 16 km     Grade: 1-2
This is the pack's shortest ride through the pretty villages of Farnham and Sixpenny Handley with the option to visit the Larmer Tree Gardens.

Route 3 Marnhull

Distance: 18 miles / 30 km     Grade: 2
This route takes you through Marnhull and Stalbridge crossing the River Stour as you go round. Stop and admire the former Kings Mill now a private residence.

Route 4 Sturminster Newton

Distance: 13 miles / 21 km     Grade: 1-2
This route starts in the old market town of Sturminster Newton and takes you through two of north Dorset's picturesque villages, Hinton St. Mary and Manston.

Route 5 Sturminster Newton & Ibberton

Distance: 18 miles / 30 km     Grade: 2
As one of the pack's longer routes, this ride will take you through the quiet villages of Ibberton and Okeford Fitzpaine.

Route 6 Bonsley Common

Distance: 12 miles / 20 km     Grade: 3
Experience a scenic off road cycle ride around Blandford Forest and Turnworth with the opportunity to see a wealth of wildlife all year round.

Route 7 Blandford

Distance: 16 miles / 26 km     Grade: 1
An easy ride from Blandford through the Kingston Lacy estate and some of Dorset's most unspoilt villages.
