Dorset Service User Forum
Dorset Service User Forum (for Substance Addiction) provides an independent voice for drug and alcohol service users.
It is run by those who have been, or still are, service users and aims to ensure communication between service users, service providers and service commissioners.
DSUF also welcomes views and ideas from drug and alcohol users who are not in touch with any service.
DSUF initially met in the autumn of 2005 and officially formed with a constitution in June 2006. Since that time, the forum has attended and continues to attend meetings with the Dorset Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and the
National Treatment Agency (NTA) (opens in a new window)
to represent the views raised by fellow service users in Dorset and on their behalf have an input into the decision making about how drug and alcohol treatment services are provided across Dorset.
They can also raise issues and concerns with DAAT Officers on behalf of service users who do not wish to raise them directly themselves.
DSUF is interested in hearing about service user views and experiences with needle exchanges, harm reduction and drug or alcohol treatment services, so that this information can be used to influence how drug and alcohol agencies can work better together to improve the outcomes for drug and alcohol service users.
