Towards the 2012 Cultural Olympiad in Dorset and the South West
The UK's bid to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to host the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games included a proposal to develop a four year Cultural Olympiad Festival leading up to the event.
Bringing Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coast to life!
The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad is the largest cultural celebration in the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic Movements. It will culminate next year in the London 2012 Festival across the UK and a programme of art and culture the like of which has never been seen in Weymouth, Portland and along the Jurassic Coast.
So what can we expect to see?
From spectacular outdoor performance, stunning visual arts and cutting-edge interactive digital work to folk dance, young bands and community choirs what you will see will be completely unique, constantly surprising and lots of fun!

How can I get involved?
From watching and performing to taking part in workshops and volunteering, there are still opportunities for people to get involved with the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme in Weymouth and Portland between July and September 2012.
