Name & Information
Peter Allen is our Badminton coach, who takes the badminton coaching on a Tuesday night for adults and Junior from 6.00-7.00pm. Peter is a Level 2 coach with Badminton England and has a Safeguarding & Protecting Children certificate, and has been at the centre since 2009.
Tina Anderson has worked at the Leisure centre since 2002 as a receptionist. During this time I have completed an NVQ 2 Fitness Instructor course, and occasionally step up to the role of Duty Manager during absences.
Jenny Brewer has been a part of the Gryphon team since 2006. Her main role is a receptionist but she is also a qualified exercise to music and trampolining instructor. Outside of work, she is kept busy with her two children and enjoys performing in a number of shows at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.
Helen Burgess has joined the team in November 2009. She works as a receptionist and is a mother of two children who keep her very busy.
Tristan Cooper has been at the Gryphon since 2001 and started as a duty manager. He was then promoted to centre manager in 2004. Educated to degree level at Loughborough University he also holds a YMCA fitness training and Gayton exercise referral qualification. A keen sportsman he has been a county standard 800m runner and now competes over 5,000m for Yeovil Olympiads.
Peter Diffey joined the centre in 2001, as Duty Manager from Hamworthy Sports and Arts Centre before that he worked for Major League Soccer in the USA as a Player Development Officer. Peter has a BA Hons degree from Staffordshire University in Sports Studies and Leisure Management, is a BWLA Fitness Instructor and is qualified by the Wight Foundation to undertake the exercise referral program; he is also REPS Level 3 and a member of ISPAL.
Tania Edmunds has had various jobs at the Gryphon Leisure Centre since 2005. Her main role now is as a Trampoline Coach and Casual Head Recreation Assistant. Tania is a British Gymnastics qualified trampoline coach, who up to 2 years ago was competing at a National level.
Anna Finch has been teaching yoga at the Gryphon Leisure Centre since June 2000. Anna is fully qualified in Introductory and intermediate Iyengar Yoga and takes both beginners and improves classes on a Tuesday from 5.30pm. Yoga is an ancient discipline which promotes mental and physical health and well being.
Samantha Hole started at the Gryphon Leisure Centre as a receptionist in 1998 before being promoted to Duty Manager in 2002. She is a BWLA Fitness Instructor and specialises in Health and Safety and Child Protection. Samantha is also the Lead Welfare Officer for Gryphon West Gymnastics Club.
Erin Nugent has worked at the centre since December 2002. She is a Level 3 YMCA qualified fitness suite instructor. She is also qualified by the Wright Foundation as an exercise referral consultant.
Lucy Pollard has been teaching at the Gryphon Leisure Centre since July 2006. Lucy is a fully qualified Exercise to Music instructor. She is also a qualified Pilates instructor and takes a Fitness Pilates class on a Wednesday evening between 6-7pm.
Darren Richard teaches Circuits on a Thursday night from 7.00-8.00pm. He is qualified Personnel Trainer and Sports Masseuse with Premier Training and has been at the centre since 2006.
Gilly Rose has worked at the Gryphon Leisure Centre since March 2005 and has extended her qualifications with Fit kids NVQ and Sports Massage.
Keith Vickery has been at the centresince it opened in 1994. A circuit training instructor who can also teach other exercise to music classes. Keith is a keen fitness enthusiast who preaches what he teaches to his loyal band of circuit training enthusiasts.
Nikki Williams has been at the Gryphon Leisure Centre since 2008. She is a Level 2 fitness and exercise to music instructor and takes Dance Aerobics and Fab Abs classes on a Monday.
