The Communities Programme
The Communities Programme is a cornerstone of the Dorset Opportunities Programme, providing advice and practical support to enable local communities to develop a successful, sustainable approach to community projects. There are three key elements to the programme
The Community Project Programme - developing sustainable projects
- A competitive programme focussed through Parish Councils and recognised community organisations
- Projects facilitated by a project management team and delivery supported by Dorset V Card Volunteer Teams
- Discretionary grants of up to £500 per project available to support project success
The V Card Community Project Programme - providing knowledge, skills and manpower
- Bespoke Teams provided by the Programme to support delivery of approved projects
- Opportunities for local people to join in, support their local projects and gain skills
- Promotes community cohesion and engagement through volunteering
Community K-S-A - up-skilling local communities and improving awareness of opportunities
- Knowledge - up to 3 days free project development advice provided by the Dorset Opportunities Programme Team
- Skills - Free skills assessment and access to free training for programme participants
- Awareness - Free advice on available support including sources of funding and help
