Cash for Cans
This is a scheme where aluminium cans can be collected by your school and the school will be paid up to 50 pence per kilo (depending on the company you use). There are currently three firms offering this service in Dorset and they can be found on the
Alupro (opens in a new window)
website.
All the companies offering the service ask for a clean load (all the cans should be aluminium). They ask that the cans are taken to them (the companies are in Bournemouth, Weymouth and Wimborne). If a group of schools were prepared to work on a scheme together (up to ten schools) to make a collection round viable. Weymouth Scrap Co (tel 01305 785538) would be prepared to collect from all the schools.
