Castle Ride

Explore this 12 mile on-road circular cycle route passing Hartland Moor and enjoying views of Corfe Castle. Then cycle on through leafy lanes to the village of Church Knowle and the tranquil Blue Pool.

Bike hire is available from Wareham Station and Norden Park and Ride . You can also have bikes delivered to your home.

Public transport:
  • There is a railway station on the London Waterloo to Weymouth line at Wareham. Telephone 08457 484950 for train times or visit their website: National Rail (opens in a new window) . Most trains can accommodate a number of bikes on each journey and the Northport Greenway cycle route links Wareham Station to Wareham Quay.

  • If you would like to hire a bike and catch a bus to collect it, Wareham Train Station is on bus routes 40, X43 and X53. Norden Park & Ride is on bus routes 40 and X43 (the 40 stops outside the Park and Ride at the Castle View Visitor Centre - follow the wooden signposts to the Park and Ride.  Download the bus timetable (pdf, 2Mb) (opens in a new window) .

Parking:

Long stay car parking is available at Streche Road - off West Street, Wareham. 

If you would like to start the ride in Corfe Castle, parking is available at Norden Park and Ride, £2 charge for all day parking.

There are pubs, cafes or restaurants in Wareham, Stoborough, Norden Park and Ride and Church Knowle.
