Managing Housing Land Supply Supplementary Planning Document
On 27 July 2007 the council adopted the 'Managing Housing Land Supply in North Dorset' Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
Introductory sections in the
adopted SPD (pdf, 226kb) (opens in a new window) 
explain why it was necessary to manage the 'oversupply' of housing in the district and outline the relevant policies from the Development Plan. It also explains how the council will manage the release of the Local Plan's remaining unimplemented housing allocations and indicates how the council will manage the release of further non-allocated housing sites.
The council is required to carry out a
Sustainability Appraisal (pdf, 249kb) (opens in a new window) of each SPD it produces, assessing the likely impacts of the proposed policies against a series of social, economic and environmental criteria.
