Where shall we build in Purbeck 2012-2026? Summer 2010 Consultation

Purbeck District Council carried out an 8-week public consultation, which finished on 30 July 2010, on where significant development should be located around Swanage, Wareham, Upton, Bere Regis, Lytchett Matravers and Wool.

We also consulted on a new District Design Guide and Townscape Character Appraisals which aim to ensure that development respects and enhances the district's distinctive character.

    Landowners/developers were invited to display their proposals at the roadshows held in Bere Regis, Lytchett Matravers, Wool, Swanage, Wareham and Upton. Some of the presentations are available to download below as PDF's

    The 8 week public consultation, which finished on 30 July 2010, asked residents and businesses in the district 'Where shall we build....2012 - 2026?' in Bere Regis, Wool and Bovington, Wareham, Upton and Lychett Matravers, and Swanage and Corfe Castle. This was undertaken as part of the Core Strategy, Purbeck's new plan to manage growth and development up to 2026.

    The following roadshows were arranged for residents and businesses to drop in and find out more about the plans for their area and the district. District Council Members and Officers were available to answer questions and landowners/developers were invited to display their proposals.
