Corfe Mullen Children's Centre

Children's Centres aim to give all children the best possible start in life and enable parents to support their child and family. They act as a central point where families can access information and a range of services.

Overview

Welcome to Corfe Mullen Children's Centre, which is part of the East Dorset Cluster.

We have been open for 2 years now and since then, have been providing various activities for children from 0 to 5 years old and support for their families. We have recently opened a purpose built extension to the Library and Children's Centre, which has given us additional play space and an office area. Over the summer months we have also been developing our new outside area. The centre has a people carrier and can arrange transport for those who find it difficult to come to the centre.

We provide sessions for certain groups including:

  • A weekly Stay and Play session for local childminders

  • A weekly Stay and Play for parents with babies/toddlers aged 0-2

  • A rolling programme of parenting groups for parents with new babies

  • A weekly Rhyme Time session for toddlers

  • A monthly Stay and Play session for Dad's and male carers

Location and area covered

We cover the areas of Corfe Mullen, Sturminster Marshall and Shapwick. We are based at the Corfe Mullen library, which is situated on the Wareham Road near to the Co-operative shop and the village hall. We work very closely with Wimborne, West Moors, Verwood and Ferndown Children's Centres, which forms the East Dorset Cluster.

Parking

There is very limited parking behind the Library and Children's Centre, which is used by people also visiting other groups in the area. The Co-operative shop car park is not for use by families visiting the centre. We would ask you to walk to the centre if at all possible to avoid the problem of parking. We do have access to a people carrier and can arrange transport for those who find it difficult to get to the Children's Centre.
