Christchurch West Children's Centre

Children's Centres aim to give all children the best possible start in life and enable parents to support their child and family. They act as a central point where families can access information and a range of services.

Overview

Christchurch West Children's Centre is now located on Christchurch High Street. We plan to have Health Visitors based with us as well as the Family Information Service and will be working closely with all other agencies within Christchurch.

We are here to support parents, grandparents, and carers who have a child under the age of 5 years. Our support may include:

  • One to one support from our Outreach Worker

  • Financial advice from our Citizens Advice Bureau

  • Group activities

  • Adult education advice

  • Job centre support

  • Health advice

  • Stay and Play sessions

We are running a Stay and Play session on Thursdays at Burton Youth and Community Centre from 9.30am - 11.30am.

Please see our current activities (pdf, 577kb) (opens in a new window)  programme.

We also work in partnership with the Christchurch Play Rangers for a number of School Holiday activities. We complement their service by supporting the activities for 0 - 5 year olds.

We are linking with all Early Years settings in the area.

Location and area covered

We are located on the High Street near the library and cover an area from Christchurch town centre and Priory, through Bargates to Fairmile and up to Hurn and Burton.

Parking

There are a number of Pay and Display car parks located near to the high street in Christchurch.

At Burton there is some free parking along the road outside the Youth Centre.
