Welcome to Customer Services at North Dorset District Council

Customer Service is important to you and important to us. At North Dorset District Council we are striving to achieve excellence in customer service. We have a dedicated Customer Services Team who are ready to assist customers over the telephone, by email and face to face at our one-stop-shop.

How can we help you?

Our highly skilled Customer Service Officers can resolve enquiries for the majority of council services including, housing and council tax benefit, at the first point of contact. If customers have enquiries covering a number of different services we can resolve this in one contact.

The council has retained the depth of expertise in its services so that if customers need advice or assistance of a specialist housing, planning, environmental health officer, for example, they will receive it.

The team uses a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, which keeps a note of customer visits and telephone calls. These records are then available so the information that is given by the customer does not have to be repeated. This helps streamline the service making it quicker and more customer focused.

Customer feedback

We want to provide you with an excellent level of service and are committed to improving the service we provide.  We need your help to do this.  If we have done something that has exceeded your expectations or a member of staff has gone the extra mile to assist you please let us know.

It is also important that you are able to tell us when something has gone wrong or you have a suggestion about our services that you would like us to consider.
