Verwood Children's Centre

Children's Centres aim to give all children the best possible start in life and enable parents to support their child and family. They act as a central point where families can access information and a range of services.

Overview

Welcome to Verwood Children's Centre.

We offer a range of activities for children under five and their families. The activities are currently running at 'The Hub' in Verwood, the Memorial Hall in Verwood and Sixpenny Handley Village Hall and include:

  • Messy Play
  • Stay and Play

  • Music and Movement

We provide specific support for our families with our Young Parents Group, Incredible Years Parenting Programme and regular Multi-Birth and Baby Feeding Groups.

To ensure families can access the very best support and information possible, we work in partnership with a number of other professional agencies including Speech and Language, Health Visitors, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, and the Parent Support Advisor Service. We have strong links with local school communities. 

we are open Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year.

Location and area covered

We have an office at 'The Hub' in Verwood where you will be able to access information and speak to one of the team. Action for Children also run Children's Centres in West Moors, FerndownWimborne and Corfe Mullen, which forms the East Dorset Cluster. Our services and activities extend across the East Dorset area.

Parking

There is free parking available on site at the Hub.
