Short Term Resource Hire
Short term resource hire provides access to a wide range of material designed to support and promote effective teaching and learning across the curriculum and age range.
Resources can be hired in a wide range of formats:
1. Project or topic collections
Collections of books and, where appropriate and available, multi media items to resource all areas of the curriculum. Hirers can choose from a list of pre-packed collections or specify their own subject requirements.
2. Artefact boxes
Handling collections of items which help to bring historical periods, cultures and religious beliefs to life. Most of the items in our collections are reproductions and can be displayed and handled without fear of damaging valuable museum specimens.
3. Art packs
Collection of high quality prints of pictures, sculpture, architecture and artefacts which link to the art curriculum.
4. Literacy collections
Collections designed to support the development of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Material available includes collections for guided reading, big books with accompanying small group texts, examples of genre writing, and artefacts, puppets and costumes to encourage creative storytelling.
5. Reader development collections
Collections of texts designed to support independent reading and encourage reading for pleasure. Packs are based around different genres, authors and themes and are updated on a regular basis. Collections of titles short listed for major children's and teen book awards are also available.
6. Story sacks
Collections of books, puppets, toys and games designed to stimulate an interest in reading in Early Years and Foundation settings. These collections are also ideal for enabling adults and children to share stories and general interest non-fiction topics in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
