A356 Route Management
This scheme is a Rural Route Management scheme from the county boundary to the junction with the A37.
Scheme objectives
The objectives for this scheme are improving the quality of life of people along the route, reducing speed and maintaining a rural feel to the environment. This scheme will utilise the Dorset Rural Roads Protocol.
Budget
This scheme will be funded through the Local Transport Plan budget, which is provided annually by the Department for Transport.
Consultation
Consultation took place in 2010 with parish, district and county councillors. Public exhibitions were held in South Perrott and Maiden Newton.
Construction
Remedial works ongoing.
Stage 4 Road Safety Audit due to be carried out in September 2012.
