PLAY AREAS

Play is an essential part of children's and young people's lives.

It not only helps children and young people to explore the world around them and develop practical skills but it is also fundamental to the importance of health and well-being, relationships, social development and learning.

To actively encourage safe and free play, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council has created 6 key sites across the borough that provide a full range of fun, innovative and exciting equipment for all age groups.

There are 38 play areas across the borough, including a green gym and a skate park. A new five year borough-wide play strategy will be produced during 2012, which will focus on how to get the best provision of play for local young residents.

Barrow Rise
