Renewable Energy Updated Strategy - Consultation draft (pdf, 123kb) (opens in a new window)  sets out a proposed strategy for the future. This document contains key questions and information on where to send consultation responses. 

The public consultation period ran from 1 June until 30 September 2011 and has now concluded.  The consultation responses received will be used to inform the final strategy. It is planned that an updated version of the strategy document will be produced for endorsement by key stakeholders before the end of the year. 

The draft strategy was developed following a detailed analysis of the potential for renewable energy in the area, identification of key issues to be considered, a public opinion survey and a consultation event held in March 2011.
