Christchurch Harbour Steering Group and Forum

Two groups have been established to help with the management and communications within the harbour. They are;

Christchurch Harbour Steering Group - is a voluntary partnership of key stakeholders within the Christchurch Harbour area and to take ownership of the Christchurch Harbour & Waterways Management Plan. The group will act as the advisory group that provides ideas and advice on relevant issues

Christchurch Harbour Forum - is made up of the wider representatives of all those with an interest in the harbour. This Forum feeds into the work of the Christchurch Harbour Steering Group

Christchurch Harbour Steering Group

The Christchurch Harbour Steering Group is a group of key organisations who have agreed and formally adopted the Christchurch Harbour & Waterways Management Plan in 2010.

Member organisations include;

o Christchurch Borough Council

o Bournemouth Borough Council

o Dorset Coast Forum

o Sembcorp Bournemouth Water

o Natural England

o Environment Agency

o Christchurch harbour Association

The group have agreed terms of reference.

Christchurch Harbour Forum

The Christchurch Harbour Forum was established in 2011 to bring together the wider interests of all those connected with Christchurch Harbour.

Christchurch Harbour Forum is coordinated by the Christchurch Harbour Association who provides a key link to the Christchurch Harbour Steering Group.

The Forum provides an opportunity for issues and opportunities to be discussed whilst allowing the Steering Group to be in touch with the real users of the Harbour.
