Painting playground equipment at Easton Square
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council asked us to help improve the Playground at Easton Square, Portland - could we help the park to gain 'Green Flag' status?
Whilst Council staff worked on the park grounds, our group sanded off all the play equipment and painted it. The project took a couple of days and, on the first day, ITV Westcountry News filmed a 3-minute feature for the evening news.
The park and play equipment looked fantastic at the end and yes, the Playground at Easton Square gained the prestigious Green Flag status.
In this photograph our group is with a member of the Council's Parks team and the newly painted climbing frame and slide.
In the photograph below our group member Andy is painting a section of the climbing frame.
Our group said "Parents who bring their toddlers to the park were really appreciative of what we'd done and it's great that the park has now obtained Green Flag status."
