West Dorset business recycling services
West Dorset District Council offers a competitive paper and card recycling collection service for West Dorset businesses. Business rates do not cover this service so charges apply.
Recycling paper and card saves money
Recycling waste costs less than sending it to landfill. For example, it costs £12.56 to get a 1100 litre wheelie bin emptied and taken to landfill, whereas getting the same amount of recycling collected costs just £6.60. Compare our prices below:
| Container Size | Recycling collection costs | Landfill collection costs |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-paid collection labels for bags | £1 | £1.65 |
| 300 litre service (four green sacks and an amount of cardboard) | £2.30 | £4.28 |
| 660 litre wheeled bin | £4.30 | £9.35 |
| 1100 litre wheeled bin | £6.60 | £12.56 |
How can I get my paper and card recycling collected? What will it cost?
Pre-paid collection labels for recycling cost £1.
This unique service allows small businesses to recycle small amounts - at small prices. This service is available to businesses in the high streets of Dorchester, Sherborne, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Weymouth. The cardboard has to be flat packed with a label attached to each bundle. It must be placed where our recycling crews can spot it easily on collection day. The amount of cardboard for one label is approximately 10 medium sized boxes. The labels can be bought at district council offices and tourist information centres in West Dorset.
A 300 litre baled service is also on offer. This costs £2.30 per collection of four green sacks and an amount of cardboard. This service may suit businesses that require a regular collection service or do not have space for a wheelie bin.
We also offer a wheelie bin collection service for larger amounts of recycling. They can be cheaper and tidier than bags. Wheelie bins are available in two sizes, 660 litres which costs £4.30 to empty and 1,100 litres which costs £6.60 to empty. The council offers a flexible service so businesses can have their bins emptied weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Save money reduce your waste
As well as recycling, businesses can save money by reducing the amount of waste they produce in the first place. Information about how to do this is available online
