The Chief Executive is the senior officer who leads and takes responsibility for the work of the 14,039 paid staff of the council, who run the local authority on a day to day basis. The role of the Chief Executive is a full-time appointment.
The Corporate Resources Director provides many of the central functions of the county council.

The aim of Adult and Community Services Director is to advance the well being of people in Dorset through the delivery of cultural, regulatory, adult social care and adult learning services.
