Early Years and Childcare

Early Years and Childcare includes nurseries. pre-schools, childminding, out-of-school clubs and children's centres. It also includes information on wider services relevant for families.

Early Years covers the services for children aged from birth to 5 years, before they start school. Out-of-school clubs care for school aged children before and after school, and during school holidays (childminders often provide this service too, in addition to caring for under 5s).

Early Years and Childcare is a vital aspect of a families life, both in terms of allowing parents to work and giving children access to high quality learning and development opportunities to give them the very best start in life.
