Children's centres
Children's centres aim to give all children the best possible start in life and enable parents to support their child and family. They act as a central point where families can access information and a range of services.
Closure due to bad weather conditions
Please remember to phone your local Children's Centre to check Closed servicesto see if it is closed due to bad weather.
Activities for men with kids - dads welcome!
All Children's Centres wish to welcome more family men, because more quality time with dad is proven to be of great benefit to children (and parents). This includes grandads, uncles, step-dads etc. Please contact your centre and see how you can get involved.
Some of the Children's Centres listed below are running activities especially for dads and their children. Check the centre's activities programme to find details or search the Family Information Directory. Please contact the individual centre to check details before turning up. Dads are also welcome at other centre activities.
Activities are generally aimed at 0-5 year olds but occasionally suit older children too. If you live close to a border you may find activities out of county including Bournemouth and Poole. Further information on support for fathers is available.
