Bincombe Valley Childrens Centre

Bincombe Valley Children's Centre is situated in the Littlemoor area of Weymouth. It supports families with children aged under five years and up to the age of seven where there are specific needs. Find out what is on offer and when activities are available.

What we do

Bincombe Valley Children's Centre is run by Action for Children, one of the countries leading charities, who work in partnership with Dorset Sure Start and other agencies to provide services for families in the local community.

The centre is one of a cluster of four children's centres based in Weymouth and Portland, which includes The Mulberry in Weymouth town centre, Outlooks on Portland and Westham.

Across the cluster a wide variety of services are provided for families with children under five years and expectant parents. Activities include:

Baby groups, including baby massage, weaning advice, signing and breastfeeding support groups
Play and learn sessions for all - be prepared for messy play!
Toddler groups with songs and rhymes to encourage early talk

Also available are groups for families with children who have additional needs, young parents, childminders and families with twins/triplets.

Extra Support

Sometimes families need extra help for various reasons and these families are supported by our outreach workers who can offer advice and work with other services and agencies when needed.

Location and opening times

We are tucked away on the site of Bincombe Valley Primary School and Nursery. Parking is available on Culliford Way. Follow the path through the Culliford Way entrance and you will spot us as the first building as you approach the school, surrounded by multi-coloured pencil fencing.

The centre is open Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm. Please note that times may vary according to local need. We are open throughout the year and often have sessions running during school holidays.
