Bincombe Valley Children's Centre

Overview

Bincombe Valley Children's Centre is the third centre of a cluster of four in Weymouth and Portland.

The centre was opened in November 2007 and now has full time members of staff consisting of:

• Senior Practitioner
• Outreach Worker
• Child Development Practitioner
• Child Development Practitioner assistant
• Administrator

Staff from all four centres move around when the specialist sessions are rotating.

Location and area covered

We are located on the site of the Bincombe Valley Primary School and Nursery and should be accessed by the Culliford Way entrance. We are easy to spot as we are the first building as you approach the school and surrounded by pencil fencing.

Our reach area covers Preston, Littlemoor, Upwey, Broadwey and down to Radipole.

Parking

We do not have on-site parking facilities. Parking is available on Culliford Way but service users are asked to be mindful of the needs of local residents.

Further information

A programme of activities (pdf, 736kb) (opens in a new window)  is available throughout the year and we are also open during school holidays. During holidays we welcome older siblings, although due to the nature of our activities we recommend under nine years old.

We have an active Parent Forum where parents and carers can share their ideas and thoughts on what they would like to see happen at the centre. We have a variety of sessions, courses, outreach and other agencies using the centre which compliment the accessibility for the families in the area.

Staff are happy to answer any queries either by telephone or by calling into the centre. On Friday afternoons we run 'Look and See' for anyone to come and have a look around, meet the staff and get help with filling in forms.
